[It's been four days since this incident took place, and now Yuan's finally fully regaining consciousness. The first thing he notices is a pounding headache. Roughly ten seconds later, he realizes his surroundings aren't quite what he expected to see. He's lying virtually face-down in a bed in the clinic. Peculiar, because last he remembers, he'd left the village and headed for the mountains. Raine had come to see him, but his recollection turns a bit fuzzy after that. The white wolf was there as well. And there was a searing pain... Like his entire body had cried out in protest.

He sits up straight with some difficulty, taking deep breaths to steady himself. His hands... They're just as they always were. A quick inspection tells him there's no sign of the black rash anywhere. Aku's presence is gone, leaving him to feel drained and somewhat sore. Some time passes in which he regains his senses and tries to sort out most of his memories. Dammit, what had he been doing?

Finally, he grabs his journal from the nightstand, wondering briefly who'd left it here for him to find. Probably the same person who dragged him to the clinic in the first place.]

Where are you?

[With that done, he lies back to rest. He really does hate the clinic, but right now he's in no state to leave. Visitors will be received grudgingly but without protest.]

[He walks quietly into the room proper, surveying the surroundings briefly before taking a seat in a chair near the bed.] I received your message, that you have been cured of Aku's blight. Though it is indeed great news, you know I came here in part to be sure of this.

[Jack unsheathes the blade small bit, resting it across his lap and once again keeping it in such a position that he would not be able to strike with it. As the metal glints in the light, the samurai watches Yuan carefully for even the most subtle of reactions against it.] Do you feel the hatred, anger, anything at all towards this?

[Jack lets out a sigh of relief and sheathes the sword. A great weight seems to be lifted from his shoulders as he visibly relaxes.] It is finally over then...[He closes his eyes for a moment.] How was the affliction cured?

[How simple...exorcise a demon's essence from the host. Jack kicked himself mentally for not thinking beyond the usual scope for how to defeat Aku, but was glad someone had thought to do it.] I never thought of that as a tactic. Who performed the rite?

[Jack smiled. As he thought it over more, he began chuckling at the irony. Before long, he was laughing out loud, tears in his eyes.]

[Jack wipes his eyes and looks at Yuan's expression.] Forgive me, it is just...I know exactly who you speak of but I never even thought to ask her! The wolf is Amaterasu, a sun goddess in the form of the wolf. I met her in person just the other day in a store for food.

Well, during my first days here, I conversed with a man named Ginko. He told me about the goddess in that particular form. Then when I met the wolf in the market, she confirmed that she was indeed the goddess Amaterasu.

[Hmm, he had not yet beheld the goddess's power, but the small bit of magic she displayed when she met the samurai bespoke of an odd sort of sorcery.] Do you remember what happened?
