[It's been four days since this incident took place, and now Yuan's finally fully regaining consciousness. The first thing he notices is a pounding headache. Roughly ten seconds later, he realizes his surroundings aren't quite what he expected to see. He's lying virtually face-down in a bed in the clinic. Peculiar, because last he remembers, he'd left the village and headed for the mountains. Raine had come to see him, but his recollection turns a bit fuzzy after that. The white wolf was there as well. And there was a searing pain... Like his entire body had cried out in protest.

He sits up straight with some difficulty, taking deep breaths to steady himself. His hands... They're just as they always were. A quick inspection tells him there's no sign of the black rash anywhere. Aku's presence is gone, leaving him to feel drained and somewhat sore. Some time passes in which he regains his senses and tries to sort out most of his memories. Dammit, what had he been doing?

Finally, he grabs his journal from the nightstand, wondering briefly who'd left it here for him to find. Probably the same person who dragged him to the clinic in the first place.]

[With that done, he lies back to rest. He really does hate the clinic, but right now he's in no state to leave. Visitors will be received grudgingly but without protest.]

[Imagine the look on her face two days ago when she walked into this 'empty' room and Yuan was in it.

It's full now. And we can't resist the chance to talk to him when he's all incapacitated like that. It would go against tradition. So here, have a visitor.]

At least you're not sleeping on your face anymore.

[And of course he'd encounter Sheena here. There's no avoiding this girl when he's sick or injured. He raises an eyebrow at her remark.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[She doesn't see his note immediately - after all, it's technically the second day of school, and a certain amount of time needs to pass before a reasonable break, especially with the organization taking place.

Eventually though, during lunch, Raine sees the note and leaves one in response.]

So you've finally woken up. I'm... at the school right now, and I'll be here for a few more hours. I'll stop by once classes are over.

Take your time.

[Yuan isn't exactly going anywhere. In fact, if he dozes off again, the rest of the school day will pass in the blink of an eye.]

[Oh why did it have to be raining today. At least it wasn't - storming. Not yet. But that's not important.

Eventually sometime after classes are over and any additional questions there are taken care of, Raine makes her way over to the clinic. She had been planning on stopping by there, anyway.]

[She'll find Yuan where he was left four days ago. He's sitting up, flipping through his journal to see if there's any mention of Emil these past few days. He still faintly remembers what he did, though he's curious to see if someone's already found the core and undone the damage.]

[She has an umbrella, but not a new staff. She needs to have that replaced. For a moment she looks at him from the doorway before approaching.] ... Yuan.

[He closes his eyes for a moment before snapping his journal shut. This isn't exactly an encounter he's been looking forward to. The fraction of Aku's essence manipulated him into doing some stupid things, but it still doesn't excuse that he wasn't strong enough to withstand it.]

Raine.

... How are you feeling? [It's a tentative question. She doesn't know if he even remembers, after all.]

[Shards. He remembers faint shards. That's why he asked where Raine was in the first place. For all he knew, she could've been in the clinic as well.]

... Better. My body has returned to normal.

[For what it's worth, she's not wearing her usual robes. She's wearing a dark green jacket, instead.]

... Everything is normal? [She knows, but. It's better to hear from him.]

As normal as it can be after what's happened. [He's still exhausted, he's still got a headache... And he's still mildly disoriented.]

You'll still need more time to recover.

If I didn't, I wouldn't still be here.

... I'm glad you realize that.

[He's silent for a moment. If she was mad at him, she wouldn't be standing here like this, but...]

I'm sorry. [For everything ranging from not taking her advice, to attacking her, to breaking her staff.]

... You were being possessed. I understand that they were not your actions. [At least, she hopes that's all it was.]

No. It's because I wasn't strong enough that the disease managed to spread that far in the first place. I'm to blame.

What it sounds like. The last time I was in here you looked like you were trying to eat the pillow.

[Don't worry, he'll get her back eventually]

[Yuan leans back against the headboard, crossing his arms.] So did you just come to gloat?

No. [hands on hips. What good is gloating when she didn't to anything to cause this?] I came to see how you were.

Alive. [Which is more than he'd have given himself credit for if someone had asked him to make a prognosis last week.]

Well, okay, and to ask what the heck happened to you.

[Nosy, aren't you?] That doesn't matter. It's been cured.

Yeah, but whatever you went and asked Raine about must've been a big deal.
