[It's been four days since this incident took place, and now Yuan's finally fully regaining consciousness. The first thing he notices is a pounding headache. Roughly ten seconds later, he realizes his surroundings aren't quite what he expected to see. He's lying virtually face-down in a bed in the clinic. Peculiar, because last he remembers, he'd left the village and headed for the mountains. Raine had come to see him, but his recollection turns a bit fuzzy after that. The white wolf was there as well. And there was a searing pain... Like his entire body had cried out in protest.

He sits up straight with some difficulty, taking deep breaths to steady himself. His hands... They're just as they always were. A quick inspection tells him there's no sign of the black rash anywhere. Aku's presence is gone, leaving him to feel drained and somewhat sore. Some time passes in which he regains his senses and tries to sort out most of his memories. Dammit, what had he been doing?

Finally, he grabs his journal from the nightstand, wondering briefly who'd left it here for him to find. Probably the same person who dragged him to the clinic in the first place.]

[With that done, he lies back to rest. He really does hate the clinic, but right now he's in no state to leave. Visitors will be received grudgingly but without protest.]

Really? Oh well. [She starts sorting through her flowers.]

Could you get me a glass of water?

Oh yes. [There's a long pause. Grune doesn't go anywhere.]

[After ten seconds of this, he realizes she's not budging.] ... I meant now. Immediately.

[… … …] Now what was I doing?

[...] You were getting me a glass of water.

Oh, that's right. Here. Hold these. [She hands him the flowers, then gets up and wanders off.]

[He takes the flowers, mildly confused. Why did she even have these with her in the first place?]

[She's gone for an awfully long time….]

[After a few minutes, he just lays the flowers down beside him on the bed and leans back, mildly frustrated. Honestly, how long does it take to get water?]

[Grune wanders back in...completely empty-handed.]

Oh, hello.

[He just stares at her, utterly dumbstruck.]

[And she's entirely oblivious.]

My, what lovely flowers.

... You gave them to me.

Oh, did I? That's good. Flowers make this place looks so much prettier. I hope you enjoy them.

[He gathers the flowers up again, holding them out to her.] You can have them.

No, I can pick more. You can keep them. [She looks at them for a moment.] Hmm. They don't look very happy. I think they need water.

[She wanders off again.]

[Yuan just shakes his head in disbelief. He's doubtful whether she'll come back at all this time, but only time will tell.]

[Amazingly, after a very long time, Grune returns. In one hand she's got a pitcher of water, which definitely isn't going to become a flower vase, and, wonder of wonders, in the other she has a glass of water. She hands Yuan the glass.] There you go! You looked so thirsty I thought you might like a drink.

Here. I think the flowers are thirsty, too. [She reaches for the flowers.]

[He takes the glass of water, wondering briefly whether she's lost her marbles, or if he's the one who's going mad. Then he shakes it off and hands her the bouquet of flowers.] I'm sure they are.

[She hums away happily as she arranges the flowers. I hope you like them, Yuan, because you're stuck with them.] There! That's much better.

[Oh, he's bound to conveniently forget them when he leaves the clinic. It was a nice gesture, though. He takes a few sips of water, watching her arrange the flowers. She reminds him of Martel when she does that. It's... not a very happy reminder.]
