[Of course, telling two murderous assholes to back off is like inviting them to your doorstep, which is exactly where Yuan will be. Well, his front lawn, to be more precise. If they are stupid enough to show up, at least he'll have a nice excuse to follow through with his threat. As much as Martel insists these guys have been punished enough, Yuan wouldn't mind having them pay a bit more.

If you happen to be passing by house #8, feel free to bug him. He doesn't seem to be doing much besides sitting on the grass and sketching something on a piece of paper.]

Why would they need to repeat those experiments?

I've heard that the love experiment has been repeated. What other ones have been?

The disease that took the lives of quite a few villagers, people turning into animals, people changing genders... A drastic personality change occured quite a few times. And though he technically isn't an experiment, the Hunter's appeared twice. [Some of this is going off hearsay, though. The one time several experiments were repeated at the same time, Yuan was kidnapped by the Malnosso.]

It's interesting that the experiments have been...less severe since I've been here.

I do remember the hunter, though. I'd rather not see that thing again.

Less severe, yes, but I can't say the overall situation's improved. Now there's a good chance the Malnosso will decide to have us fight their war for them.

Which is exactly what people have been trying to do for the past two and a half years, now. So long as we're trapped here, there will always be some sort of threat lurking.

There's been talk of establishing some sort of justice system here to deal with the threats within the barrier. Is such a thing really possible here?

Such a thing is circumstancial. It depends how far they're willing to go to achieve 'justice' and which methods they'd use to set a standard between right and wrong.

"How far they're willing to go," indeed. There's also the question of what good it will do. Whether they lock up the criminals or kill them, they'll just keep coming back.

That's already been done. Naoya and Dilandau were locked up for the murder they committed, but I don't know if they're still in there. And I remember when the Medic had been imprisoned for his act.

Yes...they were talking about additional punishments while the former two were locked up, but I doubt anything was decided.

They were going to let the general population decide...which is likely why no decision has been made.

[Yuan can't help but snort at that.] From what I've seen, half the population wouldn't even care. The decision would fall into the hands of people who are actually involved with the murders, thereby effectively ruining the whole point of being impartial.
