[There's a dull thud as Yuan's journal hits the ground and apparently falls open. This sound is drowned out, though, by the following scream;]

AAAAARGH! WHY ALWAYS THE CURTAINS?!

[The poor man has just returned from a few hours of training in the forest to find that Zoisite had a bit too much fun decorating while he was away. It's not just the curtains, which now have a cheery flower pattern. There's several vases scattered throughout the house and the tablecloth also supports this flora design. Just wait 'till he sees the fuzzy carpet in the living room.]

Teleportation, telekinesis, sensing. I specialized in pyrokinsis and conjuring... Studying magic was something to pass the time.

I see. That's a bit different from my world, though. Things like teleportation are considered more of abilities, while magic is a term used for elemental-based spells.

Magic is usually a term for anything that normal people can't do in my world. Like, well, divination and energy transfer.

Elemental-based magic is something normal people can't do as well. Teleportation, however, is even more uncommon.

[Limited to, say, Seraphim and Grand Cardinals.]

That makes sense. It's difficult to to.

Do people romanticize magic in your world too?

No. In a way, they despise it. Rather... They despise the people who can use it.

Like 'witches'?

... Witches?

Humans have this thing about hating people who can do things that they can't. So they went on these... insane witch hunts years and years ago. It was in one of the books I was reading.

So these "witches" could use teleportation and other similar powers?

Not sure. Most of the cases just seemed to be humans attacking other humans. Most of their magic was harmless, just energy spells and easy hexes.

That's ridiculous. To even go as far as attack their own kind...

No one ever said they were smart.
