It's not just the curtains, which now have a cheery flower pattern. There's several vases scattered throughout the house and the tablecloth also supports this flora design. Humans have this thing about hating people who can do things that they can't. So they went on these... insane witch hunts years and years ago. It was in one of the books I was reading.

Not sure. Most of the cases just seemed to be humans attacking other humans. Most of their magic was harmless, just energy spells and easy hexes.
