[Yuan had headed to the general item store early in the morning, with the intent to search for new gadgets and appliances. Over the past year, he's taken quite a liking to tinkering with otherworldly technology, especially the electrical kind. He doesn't do anything too grand with it- he just finds it oddly therapeutical to take things apart and then put them back together, drawing blueprints of them as he goes. His trip was rewarded when his eyes fell on this little beauty, complete with batteries and a special adapter that could plug it into electrical outlets. Yuan's not entirely sure why you'd need two different power sources, but that's just another thing to examine when he takes it apart. There's just one problem.

Curiosity got the better of him and he decided to try it out in the store, to see what exactly this thing does. He found a cartridge with the word "Tetris" on it, which fitted perfectly into the slot on the back. One thing led to another, and five minutes later he found himself completely absorbed in the game.

How much time has passed since he started playing? He doesn't even know. He does know he decided to take a seat on the ground at some point, to make himself more comfortable. He also knows he needs to beat this level.]

Left... Left... Now turn! Good, now I just need- No! There is no place for a square! Damn, damn, damn!

[Yes, there is a grown man playing Tetris in a corner of the item store, now completely blind to his surroundings.]

Even if right at that moment, a petite girl has just accidentally knocked over something heavy that falls with a crash onto the floor?]

[Blind to his surroundings, yes, but still not quite deaf. When he hears the crash nearby, he gives a start of surprise and the Game Boy slips from his hands. It's a good thing he was sitting, so it doesn't fall too far of a distance and survives the landing without a scratch. The Game Boy's well-being is the last thing on his mind, though, as he glances around to see what the hell that noise was.]

[Oh nooo, worst time to go all clumsy. She'll try to tidy up as quietly as she can (because all that "Left!" seems to have been very...forceful) but Yuan might notice a stray baseball bat rolling at the end of the aisle. It's a lone survivor bound to escape from a life of being stuck in a basket, you see.]

[His gaze follows the bat for a few moments, before he decides it's probably nothing important and reaches down to pick the Game Boy up from the ground. Remarkable how it didn't get damaged at all. Before he continues playing, though, he casts one more glance in the baseball bat's general direction.]

[Maybe then he'll catch sight of her chasing out the bat then! Can't leave those rolling around, it's a safety hazard.]

[Seeing the girl actually comes as a bit of a relief. Yuan is just paranoid enough to wonder if perhaps Mithos was nearby, watching him. He keeps his gaze on the girl for a few more moments, before returning his attention to the game.]

[However, the boop beep boop sounds from the console are not totally ignorable from Yunoha's end and she turns to look for the source of the noise as she picks up the bat and-- oh.]

[Was he the one who was yelling earlier? Is...he okay?]

Um...excuse me.

[Yuan's eyebrows contort and there's a moment of silence, but then he pauses the game and looks up at her.]

Yes?

[...this is too odd a way to ask, really.]

Were you the one shouting earlier?

... I wasn't shouting. [Probably. Hopefully. He does have this tendency to raise his voice, sometimes, but shouting? He really is letting this game get the best of him.]

[Uh...huh....]

But you're all right?

Of course I am. Does it look like I'm not? [In retrospect, that was probably a stupid question. He's been sitting on the ground for hours now, so that's bound to look odd.]

[So much vehemence because he was embarrassed being caught yelling? Wow.

She shrinks back a little at that tone but her reply comes audibly enough.]

I don't know. I just thought it'd be better to check.

I-I'll get going now.

... Right. [Damn, now Yuan actually feels a little bad. He clears his throat awkwardly before speaking up again.]

I apologize for raising my voice.

Oh, it's okay, I don't mind. [It's pretty embarrassing to be caught shouting, isn't it? ...well, for her it is.] I was just worried that it might be an emergency, that's all.

No, it's... Everything's fine. I merely got a little too absorbed in this game.

I see. It must be a very fun game if you were so excited.
