[This afternoon, Yuan can be spotted walking around the village perimeter. To the stores, then the library and finally he'll take a break near the fountain, watching people as they pass by. By then, he's gathered up a bag filled with assorted foods and a few books and he's flipping idly through his journal. It may seem like he doesn't have a particular reason for sitting out there, but that's exactly what he wants people to think.

Once he's sure nobody's around to see him, he'll slip into the tunnels. There's a certain someone down there he needs to check up on.]

[HEY FELLOW BLUE-HAIRED BUDDY. Or... not-buddy, really, but that isn't going to stop Regal from giving him a friendly nod as he opens the bakery door to allow some fresh air in.]

Good afternoon, Yuan. It's been some time since I last saw you.

[Yuan gives a quick nod in return. Should he stop to talk to Regal? It's hard to estimate what to expect from this guy; he doesn't really know him that well at all.

He'll just pause in his steps for a moment, then.]

Some time, indeed.

Then again, it's not that difficult to lose track of time when things are as quiet as they have been lately... almost unusually so.

[In other words: he's noticed that something seems to be up. Whether you want to give him more details or not is up to you, Yuan.]

Quiet? [He snorts at that. What with that experiment a month ago and Mithos causing more trouble, things have been far from quiet for him.]

That just means you're lucky enough to have avoided the chaotic situations.

[Regal quirks an eyebrow just slightly. So things HAVE been going on, just as he thought.]

Yes, even if the Malnosso give us a brief respite from experiments, something else always seems to come up to make matters difficult. And from what I've heard, this "something else" is of relevance to those from our world.

[Subtle, Regal. Very subtle. There's no mistaking what he's referring to, but this is like offering an umbrella after the rain. There might be another "downpour", yes, but if it happens Yuan will deal with it the same way as before. Accompanied by the same people, because by now he knows what Raine and Sheena are capable of. It's not a personal thing against Regal; he wouldn't want Zelos or Presea to cooperate either.]

... That's been dealt with, for now. You don't need to concern yourself with it.

Perhaps so. However, should this happen again, I would like to offer my services if needed. You aren't the only one who has an interest in the outcome of such events.

[Sure, he knows the others can take care of themselves, but that doesn't mean he likes the idea of Mithos rampaging around and possibly hurting them or other uninvolved innocents.]

["An interest in the outcome"... That just makes it all sound like a game- or a gamble, even.]

Then, let's hope your services won't be needed. [Yuan's hardly ever seen Regal fight. Once, twice at the most. He doesn't even know what the man's capable of. If he's got some special ability that may come in handy, surely Raine or Sheena will recommend him.

And it is like Yuan said: If they're lucky, this incident won't be repeated and Mithos will be sent home soon.]

[More like Regal wants to avoid anyone getting hurt if at all possible; he's had enough run-ins with Mithos already to know what the boy is capable of and he'd like to keep that from happening here.]

I couldn't agree more. But my offer stands, should it be needed.

I'll be sure to keep it in mind, then.

[Of course, there's no guarantee he'll actually do anything with it, because Yuan will be Yuan- As far as he's concerned, accepting help is for the weak and inept.]

On a lighter note, why don't you come inside the bakery for a moment to get out of the heat? I could make us both some tea if you'd like.

... Fine, why not. [Because when given a choice between delivering food to a no-doubt-ungrateful Mithos and drinking tea with Regal, he'll take the latter.]

[Regal may also be hoping that he can wrangle at least a little bit of information out of Yuan, but at the same time, the man is also an ally and he'd like to get to know him better.

So he'll turn back towards the bakery door and motion Yuan to follow him inside. Hmm, perhaps iced tea would be more appropriate in this weather...]

[As he steps towards the bakery's entrance, Yuan can't help but be a little amazed at how often people succeed in dragging him in here. Usagi, Diana and now Regal. He doesn't even care for pastries. Regal only offered tea, but Yuan knows only too well how this will end when you're surrounded by an assortment of cookies.

He'll just follow, expecting Regal to lead the way to a table, then.]

[And lead the way Regal will, gesturing towards a table that isn't within direct view of the window, because he can understand if Yuan doesn't want to be seen sitting around and having tea. Speaking of which, he's going to voice aloud his thought from just a moment ago:]

Perhaps iced tea might be more fitting for this weather. Which would you prefer?

[Yuan approves of that table choice and will take a seat without complaint. In response to the question, he gives a bit of a shrug. After so many years, he really doesn't prefer one thing over the other when it comes down to food or beverages. His choice is usually based on whatever's more convenient.]

Whichever is prepared faster.

In that case, I'll get the pitcher of iced tea out of the refrigerator.

[And he'll be grabbing some various cookies, muffins and pastries to go along with it, since he's not sure what Yuan likes. That's a rather sizable platter being set down on the table in front of Yuan there along with the two glasses of iced tea.

That accomplished, Regal takes a seat across from him.]

Do you take sugar in your iced tea?

[Pastries. He knew it. He just knew it. Well, Yuan won't be touching any of those. They're garnish, nothing more.]

No, I don't.

[Regal nods before dropping a couple of cubes into his own tea. The pastries are there if Yuan wants to take one or not; after a moment, he selects a scone and puts that on his plate, then takes a sip of tea.]

I'm sure there are many things you wish to ask of me.

[He doesn't think he needs to spell out why: he's from Yuan's future, after all, and he knows the other man must have questions as to what becomes of their world after the two worlds were reunited.]

[At that, Yuan frowns heavily. He's not really making the connection because Regal's already been around for two years and by now, Yuan has gathered so much information from various sources that he doesn't really wonder about the future at all anymore.]

About the matters in our world and how they have been resolved, or perhaps even about a certain young boy who is more than he appears.

[The situation is... different now, to say the least, with both Martel and Mithos here. Frankly, Regal is a little bit worried as to what might happen if Mithos and Ratatosk were to run into each other.]
