[Ever since his housemates left, Yuan's found his home to become more and more unbearable. He's considered moving into an apartment more than once, but this place holds too many memories for him. He's lived here for almost three years now- in fact, it was Martel who dragged him here from a community building back then. There's just no way he can leave.

So in order to keep himself busy, Yuan's decided to refurbish his house. Or, rather, he's starting with Zoisite's old room for now and see how far he'll get with that. Perhaps he can turn it into a study. Anything that doesn't say "Zoisite's old room".

That's why he can be seen striding through the village, carrying a few paint cans and other such supplies. What paint color, you ask? It's purple. Yuan's taste is... interesting. He's going through extremes to avoid Mithos, but other than that, any resident is free to run into him.]

[Well, that sure catches his eye.] ... It's you.

[Now that he thinks about it, he hasn't seen Rita around much since the infiltration mission in the Malnosso facility. He wouldn't have been surprised if she'd been sent home by now, just like Giles and (possibly) that other man who was with them at the third floor.]

[Jay is walking by with his hands in his pockets, not giving a damn about what's going on around him...which is unusual.]

[Jay lost in thought? There's a rare sight. Yuan shifts the weight from the pain cans to his other hand, silently debating whether this is something he wants to stick his nose into right now. ... Oh, hell, what's he got to lose?]

Jay.

[is that paint Ellis sees? it is! perfect reason to bug the man with the weird hair color ~~seriously, what's with all the odd colors in this place?~~] Hey, man, you ain't gonna paint your house that color, are you?

[At the sound of his name, Jay perks up. He notices the paint buckets in Yuan's hands, so what else is there to do besides stick his nose into it?]

Yuan. It's time for a paint job, I see.

Hmn?

[Yuan gives Ellis a blank stare, glances down at his paint cans, then back up at Ellis again.] ... Do you have a problem with that?

[He gives something aching to a shrug in response.]

It's something to keep me occupied, in any case.

[Obviously, that is him. And now that he's opened his mouth, he has no choice but to actually start a proper conversation. He gives her grocery bags a quick lookover.]

That's an interesting selection of items.

They're for something I'm making.

What about you? What's with the paint?

[What in the world could you build with scrap like that? Now he's interested. In the meantime, have an equally less detailed answerd.]

Just a little project to keep myself busy.

[It looks like someone else is out today, in the same vicinity as Yuan. Albert has his own supplies today, which include nails and what appear to be a bag of roof shingles.

He slows as he notices the other man, nodding in greeting.] A personal project, Yuan?

[Simon's underground again, working away, and since he has terrible luck, he pokes out of the ground right where Yuan happens to be walking. WHAT DO YOU DO.]

[Well, well. If it isn't the real Albert, this time. Now that the experiment is over, Yuan can be sure this person isn't Raine, or anyone else for that matter. He gives a curt nod in greeting as well.]

Something like that. And you?

[As soon as Yuan catches the movement near his feet out of the corner of his eye, he staggers backwards in alarm. He was so focused on keeping an eye out for Mithos around him, he wasn't exactly looking at the ground.]

W-what the hell?! [Is that a kid?! Good lord, he nearly stepped on his head.]

[There's just the slightest snort of amusement as he echoes Yuan.] Something like that. To pass the time for a little while longer. [He gives the sky a glance. It looks like it will snow soon.]

[Yuan follows his gaze reflexively, but doesn't really notice anything out of the ordinary.]

... After so many years in this place, one has to be inventive to fend off boredom. [And that general feeling of uselessness, because it isn't as if your life is moving forward much when you're stuck in a village where nearly everything is done for you.]

It's a shame. [That was a comment of agreement.] I'm sure you are the same in that you do not usually have this much time to explore ... hobbies in your world. Searching for the hobby to undertake is a trial in itself.

Mm, I don't have that problem entirely. I've had quite a few hobbies over the years, most of them exhausted to the point that I couldn't be bothered to care about them anymore.

[Because when you're four thousand years old, you've had plenty of time to learn to play musical instruments, gather certain books and develop technological skills. He can't remember ever outright stating to Albert just how old he is, though, which leaves him to question whether Raine would've ever brought it up. Or Kratos, for that matter.]

[Albert had surmised awhile back that there was something definitely different about Kratos and Yuan, but the age difference had never been addressed. For shame, you guys.]

And so you have taken to doing these personal projects. I suppose I am better off, not having explored so many hobbies.

[she will not run into you. You will run into her instead, because she is sitting. Perhaps counting her bruises. And just resting.

...Also, the paint. Kind of nice-looking actually.]

[It's a good thing Yuan doesn't literally run into her. Getting hit in the face with a paint can would've hurt. Instead, he sees Sheena sitting there and approaches her.]

Sheena.

[Yuan will tell Albert his secrets on the day that Albert shares his own secrets, clearly. He smiles, shaking his head lightly in amusement.]

Exploring ways to spend time is a way to spend time in itself.

Hey, Yuan. ...Changing your house?
