It seems the experiment is over. Looking back, I can't help but wonder what I was thinking. Seems I'm not the only one who is amazed by the Malnosso's deceptive powers. It's rare to see Kratos lose his temper like that. But even now, a new mystery appears. The Chosen awoke with no memory of being here and her leg has been completely healed. Could she have been replaced by a Colette Brunel from a different timeline? If so, what happened to the Colette who was here before? How will the Malnosso benefit from this? It's unsettling.

Not as unsettling as being stuck in a bed for over a week, though. Nothing to do but reading journals and trying to contact those Filial spirits, in hopes of regaining some lightning magic. No luck so far.

At least there is still one bright side to all this. Now that the experiment is over, I can finally enjoy it to the fullest.

How are you feeling? Have you adapted to Luceti yet? It's hard for some to get used to these wings and the fact that they're unable to get too far away from the village.

I'd like it if you came to visit me again this afternoon. If you're not too busy, that is.

[He breaks the eyecontact, instead glancing out the window. He can't quite prevent a small blush from creeping onto his face, though.]

[gets up, swallowing her tears even though a small sob escapes]

...I'm sorry to have bothered you. I'll leave. [acts totally calm and speaks in a monotonous voice]

[Well... crap. Yuan was trying so hard to be civil but he still managed to cause massive damage somehow. Funny how that tends to happen to him. He watches Martel get to her feet, a sharp feeling of guilt cutting into him, even though he's not quite sure where the heck he slipped up.]

[and now she's a bit angry]

[he puts a hand to his head, feeling weary]

I'm sorry. You should know by now that I have a bad temper.

And you should know by now I don't like getting yelled at...most of all by you. It makes me upset because I'm only trying my best, and it doesn't seem to be enough...

It's because you're trying too hard. You think about others' needs so much that you ignore what you want to do. It's admirable that you want to try your best, but you shouldn't force yourself to do things you'll come to regret.

[Pause]

Okay, maybe I haven't been... completely honest. I'm actually really nervous. I was just pushing myself for you. But...I suppose it will make me more at ease if we could wait.

[Yuan resists the urge to roll his eyes. He's not as dense as Martel thinks he is.]

Good. Because it will make me feel better as well.
