Finally, a pencil.

Albert, Usagi, it seems I owe you my gratitude.

My legs were damaged by the Malnosso, but they should heal in due time. Until then, it looks like I'm confined to this damned bed. As for my voice... Well, let's just say that wasn't directly the Malnosso's fault. It should return in a day or two.


... Crap. I have to go to the bathroom.

No! I tried cutting it once but it all grew back in less than a minute!

I don't think I want to change it though. I mean, I've had it since I was a kid. It's a style that runs in my family, I guess.

You're welcome, Yuan. I had wondered why the Malnosso would rob you of your voice, but you've alleviated that worry.

As I recall, I warned you about the Malnosso preying on those who are alone. They caught you in the forest, didn't they?

... Yes, they did. However, it seems that the Malnosso will just as easily capture those who remain in the village. If they want to catch you, apparently they will. I hardly see how it matters.

I'm quite aware that they capture people who are inside the village; I myself was taken from my own room. But it hasn't been proven that they go after specific people, so they could very well be going after you because you're conveniently alone.

Just because it hasn't been proven doesn't mean the possibility isn't there. I'm not one to seek out the company of others, nor will I let myself be intimidated by those Malnosso bastards.

I appreciate you taking the time to give me advice, but nothing will change from it. You may call me a fool if you'd like. It's simply in my nature.
