[Desert Fort Reconstruction Volunteers filter]

Now that everyone recruited by the Malnosso has been returned from the battlefield, I intend to leave for the desert fort tomorrow morning. We'll meet by the fountain at the village square and if you don't show by noon, you get left behind. Our teleportation mage, Erim, will transport us all to the fort in one trip, along with any supplies we may need. If there are certain personal belongings you absolutely can't go without, bring them along, but I won't stand for any useless luggage. Make sure to dress appropriately. It may be raining in the village, but the desert will obviously ensure a change in climate.

If you have any objections, let me know in a timely manner. We should get this over with before another experiment prevents us from even setting foot outside the village.

[And for anyone else interested, Yuan's slowly making his way through the village. He just got back from being drafted and despite stocking up on healing gels while he was at his Malnosso-provided apartment, it's not too hard to tell he's a bit ragged. His shoulder's moving oddly too. Though all in all, it was a nice fight out there and he's proud of the results. He kicked some Third Party ass and lived through it.

He's headed for the Welcome Center, but feel free to intercept him along the way.]

[If he knew, he'd consider himself lucky to have a girlfriend who's anxiously awaiting his return. In fact, it feels sort of like the old days during the Kharlan war: Going out to fight, then returning to camp to rest and enjoy Martel's presence. The only thing missing is Mithos hovering over their shoulder. Clearly, nothing of value was lost in Yuan's opinion.

[So she'll spot him, hesitate for a second with no idea what to do with the wet table-rag thing in her hand, then drop it onto the table she was washing and casually hurry the heck over and hug him.]

[He freezes for a few seconds at Martel's forwardness, flushing a deep red. Even after all this time, he still fails at intimacy. Once he's gotten over the surprise, though, he'll wrap one of his own arms around her waist to hold her closer.]

[Oh hey, it's that Jay kid. They've spoken plenty of times over the journals, but this is the first time Yuan's actually meeting him in person. Jay's a little shorter than he expected, but considering the boy's claiming to be an information gatherer, that may be for the best. Yuan pauses in his tracks, crossing his arms over his chest. Was that a subtle move to hide his aching shoulder? Possibly.]
