[Whoever decides to head into the forest might notice a peculiar pink glow after a few minutes' walk. This glow is, in fact, originating from a pair of sparkling pink wings, adorning Yuan's back. Yuan himself is standing perfectly still and staring blankly ahead with crimson red eyes.

The poor guy was in the forest when he suddenly got hit by the experiment and was turned into a lifeless vessel, Cruxis style.

He's rooted to the spot until he turns back to normal, unless someone who has the 'authority' leads him back to the village. Strangers can try to approach him, but lifeless vessels think only of self-preservation and he won't hesitate to attack the moment he feels threatened.]

Have a Martel strolling through the forest, as per her occasional usual. And of course, she notices the glowing.

So she's approaching you, Yuan, getting about ten feet away before her brow furrows. His eyes...]

Yuan, are you alright?

[Martel definitely counts as someone who has the 'authority', considering she's (technically) one of the Four Seraphim and all. Plus, lifeless vessels are still very much aware of their surroundings, so Yuan knows she's there. He just can't respond to her. Or speak at all, for that matter.]

...

[So he's not gonna answer. She's not about to let him just stand around here, though, in the middle of nowhere. Whatever had happened to him... It looked a lot like Mithos's work, as much as she hated to admit it. If her brother had gone and done this, after that talk they'd had...

She'd address that if it were true. For now, it's time to get Yuan home.]

You can't talk, can you? Can you follow?

[In response, he turns to face her completely and waits. This is his way of telling her to lead the way.]

[And so, not liking this one bit, she's leading the way back to town.]

Who else will you listen to? Will you listen to Kratos? Your roommate? [She pauses after each name to give time in case he's gonna nod or shake his head.]

[Martel's attempts are in vain, sadly. Vessels can't respond to questions. They can only follow orders and stay alive until they've fulfilled their purpose.]

[She has no idea what to do. She sends a quick message over her journal, the most important portion filtered to Kratos. He would know how to address this, she's pretty sure. Until then, she's just leading Yuan toward town.]

Are you able to put away your wings? [They'll attract so much attention.]

[Nope, no such luck either. The wings are a crucial part of the Chosen transformation, and thus also of the vessels they become. If he's lucky, people will think it's "festival time" and he's wearing fake wings. ... Oh, wait, only people in Meltokio are that stupid.]

[Oh boy, that doesn't seem to be working either.

If this were any less serious, there were a few dances she'd enjoy seeing him do... But like I said, serious. She wants Yuan back to normal, he can't be enjoying this. Hurry, Kratos, hurry!

They're getting close to the village now. She's taking them on a more out-of-the-way route, but:] Try not to be too conspicuous. [Not that he'd probably listen.]

[It is an order so he has to listen, but there's little he can do to not be conspicuous. And if they were approached by, say, an animal, Yuan wouldn't hesitate to attack it.]

[does a giant purple lightning ball have authority? It's still trying to find someone who can talk to it. Little does it know all it has to do is talk the way it (well, she) normally would try to]

[Sadly, Summon Spirits are kind of enslaved by Cruxis and lack the authority. The incredible concentration of lightning mana catches his attention and causes him to turn his head, but that's about all that happens. A real shame. Either way, Yuan would definitely understand her, even if she were speaking in dots.]

[that puts him on par with Martel at being able to tell her thoughts. Which is great because she's only tried thinking at people, not speaking. And she's wondering what's up with him]

[He's still staring at Sheena with those creepy red eyes of his. Good thing she's a floating orb of electricity and not a puppy, or she might've gotten kicked.]

[give her enough time and she may switch back. Of course, she's so high up in the air it would be comical. Especially if there were a hole below]

[As long as she keeps staring at him like that, she's bound to have enough time to switch back. Yuan's still not going to make a move.]

[trying to talk to him, but it sounds like crackling and buzzing]

[Yeah, that went right by him. But then-]

[With a swift blink, his eyes turn back to their normal green color and the wings disappear in a rain of sparkles, leaving him with just those feathery Filial appendages. He's a little disoriented, though. Give him a few seconds.]

[ooh, that was exciting. Yuan is now Yuan again. Buzz buzz. She managed to talk to Martel a little bit but can't quite get it right all the time]

[That wasn't a very coherent buzz, though. Usually, he'd be able to understand Volt, but it's probably logical Sheena can't speak Volt's language herself.]

What did you say?

[sigh. Figures that didn't work. Frustrated ball of wattage is frustrated and giving off sparks]

[See, it's antics like that that make Yuan suspect you're not Sheena but Zelos.]

Stop that.

There's not much I can do about it!

[That was definitely Sheena]

[And that was... definitely not Volt language.]

... You were transformed into a Summon Spirit?

[this is actually helping, because so far she only seems to be able to work out speaking when she's all riled up. So sorry for the shouting, Yuan]

[As if he's not used to people screaming at him, yet. He lives with Zoisite, of all people.]

Besides, I figured if anyone else would be able to talk to me it'd be you or Kratos. [since Raine is nowhere to be found]

You didn't purposely come looking for me, did you?

Uh...no... But I saw you and figured I'd try it out.

If you were fluent in Volt's tongue, it would've worked. Though it seems you've found a proper alternative all the same.

If I could speak Volt's language I probably wouldn't be Volt right now.

[Sheena just gets a confused look for that one. Yeeeahhh, Yuan doesn't really know what happened during Sheena's first evar Summoning adventure, so the comment flew way over his head.]

[guess not even the big bad angels know everything]

Never mind.

[If they did, the gang wouldn't have gotten away with making Summon Spirit pacts in the first place. Mithos would've tightened security around the seals immediately.]

Do you intend to stay out here until the experiment's passed?

I don't really have any better ideas...but probably not.

I see. Aside from this, I suppose the best alternative would be to stay inside your house.

Either wait for yourself to turn back momentarily, or ask someone else to do it for you.
