[the journal is suddenly flicked on to show grass, trees and the tail of a random squirrel darting past. Apparently, the creature activated it by accident. In the distance, you can see Yuan. He's consistently smashing his fist into the barrier. If you squint, you'll see slight traces of blood on both his knuckles and the obstruction itself. His voice is incredibly hoarse and carries just a wee tone of hysteria]

-Give her back! Give her back! Dammit! I'm not letting you keep her! I'm not...

[he pauses the constant punching to glance at something on his right, which isn't really there]

Shut up! Just shut up! It wasn't my fault! If you think you can do better, march right in there and save her in my stead! Oh, but you can't, can you?! Useless figment of my goddamn imagination!

[apparently, the spirit had a decent comeback ready, as Yuan's face contorts for a moment. Then, he turns his attention back to ramming his fist into the barrier. The second spirit, standing helplessly by the side, has so far been quite unable to soothe him. If anything, she aggravated the situation with her presence.]
